About The Position

The Tester Assistant will set up and perform electrical continuity testing for Low Voltage Switchgear. In this function you will: Complete continuity testing for equipment, ensure it meets customer specifications as well as safety and quality requirements. Assist Testers with required labeling and paperwork, process paperwork timely, accurately and with accountability. Perform style check on components Assist with installation of electrical components and wiring. Ensure a safe work environment for self and others and follow procedures accurately, efficiently, and with strict attention to details. Constantly evolve in product and process knowledge; may require additional classroom work or assigned reading. Troubleshoot various problems that could occur during course of wire poking; requires Tester Assistant to think critically to solve problems. Continuously improve work environment processes; may require Tester Assistant to develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inadequate. Flex to assembly when demand is low in the test area. Recognize and report quality issues through the correct channels as they arise. Must be able to work flexible hours; including overtime and weekends

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Must be able to work flexible hours; including overtime and weekends
  • Strong knowledge of the following fundamental electrical concepts: Basic Electricity & Fundamentals AC/DC

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous experience reading schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Previous experience in verification of circuits by performing continuity checks with a test light
  • Actively pursuing an associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience in an Industrial, Commercial, or Residential Electrician role
