Raytheon’s Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. As a Test & Validation Engineer II, you’ll apply your skills to develop, test, modify, and create solutions through a collaborative effort with various teams.

Requirements

  • Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience preferably in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance
  • Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming and proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines and an innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques
  • Ability to work in a team environment with the organizational skills needed to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
  • Current DoD security clearance (secret)

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in development of Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
  • Supporting daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  • Dispositioning non-conforming material using root cause and corrective action analysis and working on corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Assisting with driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate and reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Core / Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  • Assisting with tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
  • Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
