The Propulsion Test Technician is responsible for the setup, execution, and support of tests for aircraft electric motors, inverters, and associated components. This role includes not only the assembly and testing of propulsion system components but also the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical background, with experience in electrical systems and test equipment, as well as excellent problem-solving skills to address any technical challenges that arise.

  • Perform hands-on assembly of test fixtures, including both mechanical and electrical/wiring assembly
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve test equipment for both internally developed and externally purchased systems
  • Contribute to the development and execution of test procedures, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness throughout

  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools
  • Experience with wiring and electrical assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret component & assembly drawings, perform basic inspection of components using inspection instruments and gauges for troubleshooting purposes
  • Well organized, communicative, disciplined team player with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, identifying strategies to remove roadblocks when needed
  • Mental flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in implementing test setups for electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance testing
  • Experience with rotating machinery testing
  • Background in aerospace industry applications
  • Working knowledge of high voltage equipment
  • Working knowledge of electric drives and motors
  • Mechanical experience, including familiarity with A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) practices or similar hands-on technical skills
  • Experience with Matlab, Labview, Python or other data acquisition and analysis software
  • $26 - $32 an hour
