About The Position

Hiller Measurements is a growing, dynamic, high-tech organization in Dripping Springs/Austin area. Inspired measurement design is what we're about. It's a value wrought from decades of component, instrument, and system design experience. We've tested gaming, simulated atmospheric effects of satellite communications, designed unique parts of our nation's radar systems, and designed test systems for the most exciting electronic vehicles on the road. From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis allowing us to adapt to our client's design needs, budget, and schedule. Position Summary The Test Technician II provides support in the set up and testing of electronic components of computers and electronic systems. Follows electrical code, manuals, and other specifications to ensure systems and components meet established specifications.

  • Ability to read schematics and understand elementary Electronics.
  • Research minded (willingness to dig further to get resolution to a problem)
  • High School Diploma required, computer science or electronics classes preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in electronics or equivalent military or advanced technical training; preferred.
  • Background in electronics (technical certificate) and RF experience; preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance practices. Familiar with Built in Test Equipment (BITE) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE); preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for: Oscope self test and configure VNA self test and configure Spectrum analyzer self test and configure Power meter self test and configure Power sensor self test and configure Signal generator self test and configure Network Switch self test and configure Computer power up test and image Power supply self test and configure DMM self test and configure Chassis peripheral cards install / power up / self test and configure Switch testing
  • Specific RF peripheral equipment
  • Anything else that is able to power up and program.
  • Prepares and maintains equipment and configuration documentation and performs physical configuration audits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
