About The Position

The Test Technician II position participates in the construction and test of industrial, electrical and electronic systems of pump stations manufactured by Systems Manufacturing under direction of the Production Supervisor. Works from Engineering blueprints/schematics, component specification documents and other technical testing documents. Install and evaluate industry, all control panel wiring for errors and quality of connections. Identifies performance failures and has responsibility for work output, both quality and quantity. May assist in cross-training.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience with NEC Codes, UL 508, High & Low voltage, troubleshooting and testing electromechanical control panel, and PLCs
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience with centrifugal pumps
  • Strong working knowledge of VFDs, ladder logic, and PLC programming
  • Knowledge of pump stations and the principles associated with this type of product line.
  • Willingness to do hands-on production line assembly activity.
  • Demonstrated creativity and leadership to meet department goals.
  • Working knowledge of industry safety practices and OSHA guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of engineering concepts, drawings and schematics (mechanical, electrical & hydraulic).
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Electrical Testing Technician Certification or equivalent experience.
  • S. Degree in engineering or industrial science or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Safety requirements.
  • Program pump station controls and configure parameters
  • Ensure that products perform their functions in a satisfactory manner from engineering testing requirements.
  • Analyze and record test results and prepare written testing documentation.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvement opportunities for quality, delivery performance and throughput.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machine and process malfunctions as needed.
  • Assist with electrical and mechanical assembly
  • Manage multiple assignments/projects simultaneously and in a timely manner.
  • Procure and maintain necessary supplies to support production activities.
  • Install new manufacturing equipment as needed to improve productivity and quality.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing procedures and productivity reports as defined by the Manufacturing Department.
  • Flexibility to support different shifts or work schedules as required by business needs.
