About The Position

Plans, assembles, disassembles, reworks and, performs engineering development and qualification tests on various aircraft components and systems. Analyzes and evaluates test results to verify that required parameters have been maintained. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting
  • Experience with schematics or blueprints
  • Experience with using multimeters, oscilloscope, and/or spectrum analyzer

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics and/or certification in Electronics
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigs.
  • Experience with electronics in the testing field
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in a component-level troubleshooting environment

Responsibilities

  • Interact with other functional groups (e.g., engineering, manufacturing) on routine technical matters and effectively communicate work status to team members and support staff.
  • Set up, operate, and configure various test stands and test equipment, including for special tests as needed.
  • Interpret and record test results, recognizing and isolating test equipment failures, and troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level using diagnostic tools.
  • Utilize strong math skills to take electrical measurements and determine select resistors, as well as read and interpret technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics.
  • Perform technical tasks based on detailed written or verbal instructions, including troubleshooting, calibration, and modification of hardware, fixtures, and software at an entry level.
  • Support activities through the resolution of problems, preparation and maintenance of documentation, and utilizing multiple databases to create/use information for decision-making.
  • Fabricate hardware, equipment, tools, or prototypes from drawings or sketches, estimate labor and material costs, and evaluate and troubleshoot non-conformances.
  • Participate on project teams, manage workflow to achieve team goals, prioritize tasks, and apply technical expertise under changing conditions requiring ingenuity and judgment.
