About This Role: The Test Technician II performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Maintains test room equipment and assists in specialized testing. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to comprehend work instructions.
  • Understanding of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.
  • Ability to be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations.
  • Excellent attention to detail in completing work tasks.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers with the ability to complete data entry, view electronic procedures, and pass training courses.
  • Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes excluding computers or vehicles.
  • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use arithmetic, and ability to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to comprehend work instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of irrigation systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with an ISO 17025 accredited lab environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results.
  • Assists in prioritizing test requests and reviewing finished results before distribution.
  • Performs a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive mechanical and/or test operations on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Determines methods and sequences of operation where complete information is not available.
  • In coordination with Design, Sustaining, and Manufacturing Engineering, creates and conducts Hunter Test Methods [HTMs] and Design Verification Testing [DVT] for New Product and Competitor Product evaluation.
  • Conducts Failure Mode and Root Cause Failure Analysis on Finished Products and communicates results to the respective Engineering discipline.
  • Monitors and maintains all test facility equipment.
  • Offers mechanical and technical support to Test Technician, level I to ensure accuracy of results.
  • Troubleshoots for life cycle testing and documents results.
  • Implements established testing procedures for R&D products.
  • Tracks product through all phases of testing until product is approved for production.
  • Verifies that all Engineering Change Orders are properly tested (when applicable) and documents those results.
