Under the direction of the Test Operations Supervisor, this role involves conducting both destructive and non-destructive testing on energetic devices, ensuring they meet our customers' stringent specifications. This role will be onsite, located in Fairfield, CA. As an employee at Collins Aerospace-Fairfield, Safety is an expectation. Employees are expected to work safely, follow all safety rules, requirements, procedures, and instructions always. You are expected to actively participate in the safety program and be mindful of your safety and the safety of others. You are expected to complete all safety training in a timely manner. The work schedule is: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime available and/or mandatory on a business need basis

Requirements

  • HS diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2 year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ordnance products and test instrumentation/electronics.
  • Ability to read, understand, and redline testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in preparing data sheets and using formulas in Excel and other software.
  • Strong mechanical skills with knowledge of hand tools and measurement devices (e.g., calipers, micrometers, depth gauges).
  • Familiarity with test equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
  • Knowledge of electronics, instrumentation, and the ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Testing Set-up, performance, and evaluation under the guidance of a senior technician.
  • Product performance measurement and data collections.
  • Equipment Preventative maintenance and calibration.
  • Testing Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair
  • Occasionally support failure investigations and developmental testing.
  • All other duties as assigned.
