This position supports operational excellence in the building and testing of hydraulic components. This role entails collaboration with various members of the Sargent hydraulics team to meet organizational goals while furthering productivity, quality, and continuous improvement. The primary functions of this position are to assemble and test hydraulic components.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
  • Promote a culture of Continual Improvement by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality improvements, reduce manufacturing cost, minimize waste and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure that all work performed complies with Sargent procedures, drawings, work instructions, Foreign Object Debris (FOD), tooling control standards and quality policies, as well as customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Record and report necessary technical data using Sargent approved documentation.
  • Verify that proper equipment is used and is sufficient for work performed; verify that all calibration requirements are met.
  • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering providing technical support and to improve the assembly and test process.
  • Perform sub/lower-level assemblies.
  • Perform tear down and assemble various hydraulic control valves and actuators.
  • Perform tear down, assemble and test various hydraulic control valves and actuators - Build required test setup per acceptance test procedure & hydraulic schematic.
  • Ability to setup and test electrical control boxes and L.V.D.Ts.
  • Ability to run, operate and understand data acquisition results.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) plus years combined experience in tear down, inspection, assembly, test, repair/overhaul or troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical equipment.
  • Equivalent education and/or practical experience may be substituted from a mechanical, manufacturing, or military background.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs.
  • Obtain help when lifting over 40lbs or when lifting is awkward for one person to lift safely.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
  • Mechanical ability demonstrated through employment, projects, or hobbies.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively within a multifaceted production team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in order to meet scheduling and customer deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented and complete work accurately.
  • Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience in tear down, inspection, assembly, test, repair/overhaul or troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical equipment.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Aerospace, Defense or other regulated industry.
  • Basic knowledge and utilization of Lean and Six Sigma Principles.
