About The Position

Joining Collins Aerospace isn't just about finding a job; it's about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace technology. As a Test Technician II, you will perform tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications, set up testing apparatus, and conduct quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment, and systems. You will perform final tests on sub-assemblies or completed units as necessary to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance. The scope of work may include but is not limited to strength testing, thermal testing, pyrometry, and metallurgic testing.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience with schematics or blueprints.
  • Experience with using multimeters, oscilloscope, and/or spectrum analyzer.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Electronics and/or certification in Electronics.
  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with thermal tables, vibrational tables, and test rigs.
  • Experience with electronics in the testing field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures.
  • Configuring, interpreting, recording, or setting up and operating various test stands.
  • Utilizing tools to test and troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level.
  • Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics.
  • Communicating work status to team members and support staff.
  • Utilizing theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components.
  • Writing in a clear and concise technical manner.
  • Performing proper loading and unloading of electronic equipment in test beds.
  • Compiling with applicable elements of quality systems and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Acquiring applicable skill/knowledge/certification as required.
  • Compiling with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs.
  • Utilizing computer tools such as SAP and accurately following work instructions.
