About The Position

The Test Technician I is responsible for performing inspections and testing of compressor components and systems to ensure a quality product and compliance with order and quality specifications under the direction of senior technicians. This is an entry-level role designed to build foundational knowledge of compressor systems, test procedures, and safe work practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical motor controls and PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean concepts.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales.
  • Able to follow directions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and prioritize demands.
  • Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power, and air tools.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Able to receive constructive criticism and learn from others.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or technical training in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • General understanding of other assembly functions, including piping, tubing (bending and swaging), and belt alignment.
  • Knowledge of compressors and pneumatics.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products and CAD-based software.
  • Lean Certification.
  • Able to operate forklifts or powered lifting machinery or obtain certification as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test compressor components and systems to determine compliance with order specifications, company quality control system, and legal requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics and utilize these drawings for verification of system assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Connect “Low Power” (120v, 240v, 480v) electrical leads from power sources to compressor systems.
  • Communicate effectively to immediate supervisor the status of needed parts or issues preventing unit completion.
  • Operate, read, and record test data from devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, pressure gauges, and compressor HMI’s.
  • Record test data using computer-based apps or software.
  • Follow the Workmanship Standards and the ISO quality system. Utilize these practices in everyday work activity.
  • Maintain work environment in accordance with Lean 6S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Demonstrate safe use of hand tools and testing equipment under supervision.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
