This position involves operating production equipment and being responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of commercial aerospace components. The technician will follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met, relying on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish work. Key responsibilities include managing test acceptance processes for Collins products, particularly in specific process or environmental areas. This is a 2nd shift position, working Monday-Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with potential weekend overtime. The role requires performing technical tasks based on detailed instructions, utilizing various microelectronic, electronic, optical, electro-optical, mechanical, or electromechanical equipment, including computers and lasers. The technician will perform entry-level troubleshooting, calibration, or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software, participate in project teams, and prioritize tasks. Collaboration with Engineers to analyze and resolve manufacturing test problems, assist in reducing test defects, and improve test yields is also expected. The role involves following established test procedures for sub-assembly and top-level testing, interacting with other functional groups, and applying technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance, and use of products. Additional duties include supporting activities through problem resolution, preparing and maintaining documentation, managing workflow, evaluating non-conformances, fabricating hardware, estimating costs, identifying and correcting minor process issues, and accurately recording data using multiple databases.
