About The Position

About Aetherflux Aetherflux is solving the global energy crisis by building the infrastructure for abundant, resilient, and continuous space-based solar energy. We are tackling humanity’s most complex engineering challenge with a world-class team dedicated to delivering a revolutionary power platform. Aetherflux is transforming how civilization powers, computes, and connects—from orbit to Earth. Test Technician, Generalist The Test Technician is responsible for the hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of components, assemblies, and electrical systems during the development, manufacturing, and integration phases. They work closely with engineers to ensure the satellite electrical hardware meets performance, quality, and safety standards prior to launch.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree (A.A.S.) in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a closely related technical field is required. Or Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program. Or work experience combined with appropriate knowledge of the electrical field.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems integration, testing, and troubleshooting, and working with equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and soldering tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and potentially customers.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • A strong commitment to safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) for test automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Test Execution: Perform component, subsystem, and system-level testing, including electrical performance, hand-on protoboard development, and RF testing using specialized equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
  • Environmental Testing: Operate environmental test chambers for vibration, thermal, and vacuum testing to simulate launch and space conditions.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues or failures in test equipment and satellite components, often collaborating with engineers.
  • Assembly and Modification: Construct and modify wiring harnesses, mechanical support equipment, and test fixtures from schematics, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all test procedures, results, repairs, and service calls, and prepare reports for engineers and project managers.
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Perform preventative maintenance and ensure the calibration of test equipment and tools, such as torque wrenches and precision instruments.
  • Safety and Standards Adherence: Strictly follow safety protocols and industry standards when working with electrical components, at heights, and using power tools.
