To perform a broad variety of tests on equipment and manufactured parts to determine if engineering standards, customer specification & IEEE standards have been met. Prolec GE Waukesha produces primarily 3 phase power step down transformers.
Perform electrical tests to verify transformer controls: gauge, instrument and programmable controller operation.
Conduct transformer dielectric withstand and thermal capability testing.
Follow blueprints, diagrams, downloads from manufacturer’s websites and engineering specifications to set up and perform various tests on equipment, manufactured parts and power supplies.
Interpret test data, identify technical problem solutions and write NCRs for quality problems during assigned shifts.
Make repairs on assigned test equipment as needed.
Perform necessary test calculations and prepare data electronically to confirm tests are complete and have produced acceptable results.
Reject non-conforming materials and assemblies.
Calculate and analyze the results of the tests performed.
Prepare charts and graphs to indicate process trends.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Comply with all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in defined zero harm safety culture driven initiatives.
A BSEE (or equivalent) is required with no experience, OR an AA degree in the electrical field with some related experience, OR high school diploma or GED with supplemental specialized electrical training and three years of experience, OR high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of progressive experience in QA testing.
Ability to read electrical prints, technical requirements and industry standards.
Safety mindset and ability to configure power supplies and generators.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems.
Obtain Arc flash training and follow safe electrical work practices.
