About The Position

The Test System Engineering Manager will have technical oversight of the capability and the testing of pumps at the Monroe and Kentucky facilities. The position will have a strong partnership with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Product Management to ensure the correct functionality of test equipment and execution of testing on the production floor and the engineering laboratory. This position will also ensure that test equipment and ancillary equipment are properly maintained and will generate an equipment strategy to include necessary investments to ensure testing capability. The Test System Engineering Manager will also partner with the Product Managers and Engineering to ensure the test needs for New Product Development (NPD) are adequate and functional.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage large complex technical projects.
  • Project management skills.
  • SolidWorks (or similar) ability to create fixtures, test stand models, and FEA analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram)
  • Ability to deploy new instrumentation and improve test data acquisition.
  • Ability to develop standard work for laboratory and testing capability.
  • Knowledge of Lean as applied to testing processes, 6 sigma certification is a plus.
  • Ability to travel (10% Domestic).
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of Engineering experience on heavy equipment (ideally fluids related).
  • 3-5 years of large testing installations (ideally fluids related).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior time working in a commercial role and/or demonstrated partnership with commercial operations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product testing equipment and oversight of testing on the shop floor.
  • Drive standard work and workflow improvements in product testing.
  • Manage the testing capability in Monroe and Kentucky including the engineering laboratory.
  • Technical support for testing and test process improvement in Monroe and Kentucky.
  • Resource management and allocation for testing.
  • Develop and deploy test stand Periodic Maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Support the Director of Engineering on requests for testing and New Product Development activities.
