About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for performing duties as a Test Specialist, including acting as the test lead on small and medium scale projects and testing initiatives. The role involves collaborating with other testers to determine test environment set-up requirements, developing and executing systems testing, and providing system expertise on small and medium scale system changes. The Test Specialist will share test results with members of the project team and log and track defects found during testing. Additionally, the position requires participation in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. The Test Specialist will work collaboratively with Business Analysts, Testers, Developers, and Internal Business Customers to investigate and explore alternatives to system issues and enhancements. Responsibilities include assisting development with analysis and design for new or existing systems, collaborating in the analysis of advantages and disadvantages of solution alternatives, and participating in the proactive review of enterprise processes and applications. The role also involves providing input that determines the relative efficiency of the alternatives and functioning as a testing expert in the inspection of business and system requirements. The Test Specialist will work with the development team to determine the test approach and translate requirements/stories into test plans, use cases, and test cases. They will provide input to Test Automation Developers to create new automated test cases or modify existing ones, coordinate vendor testing, and develop test cases that support both positive and negative expected results as identified by the requirements/stories. The position requires executing test plans, both manual and automated, for enterprise-wide applications and interfaces between internal and external systems, as well as assisting other testing staff with developing and executing test plans. The Test Specialist is responsible for validating application test results to verify documented system requirements/stories, following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, and raising awareness of application, tool, and data issues found during testing. They will evaluate impacted systems and applications to ensure standardization of presentation format, usability, and reporting, assist in testing user documentation developed for training, and provide use case demonstrations to internal business customers. The role also includes identifying, analyzing, and retesting defects related to system changes, procedures, or workflows, ensuring defects found in testing are resolved prior to Test Approval, and maintaining current project planning systems for assigned testing initiatives. The Test Specialist will ensure customer approval of test results is obtained before moving code to Production, create and maintain test management documentation, and distribute reports while communicating directly with the customer. They will assist in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations for process improvements, develop documentation for testing tools, and conduct training for the same. Periodically, the Test Specialist will participate in groups or committees related to processes, standards, and best practices, while maintaining confidentiality of information processed as appropriate.
