About The Position

The Test Specialist is responsible for providing direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific by leading the Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Functional Integration Test (FIT) team in the verification and validation of Command and Control Processor (C2P) and Multi-Tactical Data Link (MTDL) systems. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organizations goals by providing C2P subject matter expertise in the planning, coordination, analysis, reporting and execution of test events in a controlled testing environment. This position will directly impact the US Navy mission and operational readiness through the test and evaluation of major program baselines to support program acquisition milestone decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years and basic knowledge of common terminology within the scope of the program.
  • Ability to accurately utilize terminology while communicating verbally or written.
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation Methodologies.
  • Technical Writing skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Experience in data collection and plan development to support analysis objectives, including the development of data logs, matrix's and tables.

  • BS in STEM preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and tear down the test architecture of various systems and sub-systems.
  • Execute test procedures, analysis of test results, and generate final test documentation.
  • Generate test scripts within systems to support execution of test procedures.
  • Participate in the development of Test Plans and Test Procedures, including identifying test objectives and determining methods of evaluation.
  • Decompose test requirements from various systems and interface specifications to test specific capabilities of a system.
  • Apply standard troubleshooting techniques and utilize common data analysis tools to support the validation, root-cause and troubleshooting of issues observed or documented during testing.
  • Participate in generating required test reports and/or Trouble Report Retest Status (TRRS), and provide to the Project Lead.
  • Participate in data collection, preliminary data analysis, data removal, data transfer, provide any data analysis information for Test Observation Reports (TORs), and reach back support, as needed.
  • Support in the training of junior members of the team.
  • Periodically stand-in as Event Lead to support during testing or may lead a small team.
