The Lab Trainer will conduct training of new hires and existing Engineering Lab personnel. Areas of focus include procedural, incidental, application, and technical training. Position Responsibilities May include: Lead training modules such as classroom, virtual, workshops and OJT (On-the-Job training) for Lab personnel on a variety of technical topics. Organize, schedule, manage enrollments, record attendance, and ensure training materials are available for in-person training courses. Assist in the development of the annual training plan for the lab based on the personnel and strategy needs. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and assist Supervisors/Technicians as required to ensure rooms are running efficiently. Prepare test unit/model for training, making alterations as needed. Maintain a working knowledge of all cooling and gas lab test procedures. Maintenance of training lab and classroom equipment. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Nature & Scope: Trains Lab Trainer 1 & 2. General instructing, scheduling, maintaining, and reviewing the work of others. Knowledge & Skills: Expert relative to HVAC safety and governing standards required. Will be an expert relative to HVAC/HP systems and components. Good brazing skills required (in-house brazing training required). Ability to provide direction/guidance to personnel on the set-up and operation of lab test systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office-Excel, and Outlook. Analytical and Problem-solving skills. Experience: 1-3 plus years lab technician experience utilizing psychometric test facilities, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 plus years of HVAC/R Instruction/Training experience. Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED. EPA 608 certification required or obtain one within 3 months of start date. 1 plus years of formal technical school training in electronics or air conditioning, refrigeration & heating. Brazing certificate (in-house braze training required). People Management: No Physical Requirements / Work Environment It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of computer. May involve considerable walking and/or standing to an area due to training demand. Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
