About the position

This summer intern position operates and maintains test lab equipment. As an intern you will learn and develop skills in testing existing and new contactor designs for mechanical life characteristics such as force deflection, contact, elastomer/load board wear and electrical characteristics.

Responsibilities

  • Processes Test Requests
  • Performs test activities per standard testing procedure or customer request.
  • Documents test activities and test results in the Test Request System.
  • Documents test issues in Issues Tracker.
  • Maintains Test Equipment
  • Conducts routine preventive maintenance tasks on test equipment.
  • Develops Test Methods
  • Participates in training on new/changed test methods and equipment.
  • May recommend changes in testing methods or equipment.
  • Understands Management Policy statements and organizational/departmental objectives.
  • Follows Management System procedures and work instructions.
  • Identifies and reports problems, participates in fixing problems and assists in improving processes and products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in a related discipline (ex: ME, EE..)
  • Knowledge of test equipment, procedures, data collection techniques and calibration.
  • Knowledge of wiring, soldering and the ability to read electronic schematics.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Quality oriented and dependable.
  • Strong experience with Excel and data programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of PLC's and C Programming Software
