About The Position

Boeing's Space Launch System Core Stage production and functional testing at NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida is looking for a Test and Evaluation Engineer to join their team. This role will be part of the Production Test Team that is testing and verifying our products to ensure the ultimate safety for human spaceflight. This effort includes the expansion of the test team to Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida. The Production Test Team does significant amounts of testing on the propulsion and hydraulic systems ensuring the proper build of the rocket, as well as functional testing of the flight avionics and instrumentation. Come join a great team at the Kennedy Space Center in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) where the Space Launch System Engine Section is being built and the entire Core Stage will be integrated and tested for flight. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience conducting test in a lab or production environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Avionics/Electrical Systems and/or Propulsion, Fluid Dynamics, Leak Testing or Pneumatic Panel Operations
  • Experience as a lead engineer and/or leadership role
  • Willing and able to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights with or without equipment assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Level 4: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in space-based Avionics/Electrical Systems and Propulsion system testing
  • Experience with leak testing or operation of pneumatic panels
  • Experience with guiding and setting priorities for the team
  • Experience with NASA customer

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
  • Develop solutions to calibration systems to achieve test requirements
  • Uses analytical tools to verify the design
  • Analyze, process and format data to customer requirements
  • Review test data, including off-nominal data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
  • Support the development and verification of test methods
  • Guide others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
  • Prepare and publish test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
  • Present test results internally or externally
  • Archive data and reports
  • Train others
