About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in North Charleston, SC. A successful candidate will lead the implementation and development of the test & evaluation efforts in Charleston SC. The candidate will act as the test focal during all stages of the test verification activity. The candidate will conduct regular planning with internal and external customers as well as provide regular briefings to management and the customer. The job requires the candidate to apply a broad range of test engineering skills for all aspects of development and qualification which includes test planning, test procedures, test reports, and subcontract flow down/compliance. This position requires a candidate with good interpersonal and communication skills and a dedication to customer satisfaction. A successful candidate will coordinate near and long-term test planning. The responsibilities will include instilling a project management culture in the team working on all aspects of the contract. The candidate must have prior knowledge/experience with all aspects of project management and test execution to include but not limited to; planning, scheduling, risk management, configuration management, test execution leadership, in addition to strong communication and team building skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience in Program Management Best Practices (i.e., Requirements Management, Resource Management, Integrated Planning and Scheduling, Financial Oversight, Earned Value Management (EVM), RIO (Risk, Issue, Opportunity) Management, Program Communication, Senior Leadership Reviews, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in test procedure development, test execution, and test reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Level 5: 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working Boeing Commercial Test Programs
  • Experience working with military customers at remote test sites
  • Experience coordinating with test team personnel, project engineers, and aircraft maintenance teams
  • Active U.S. secret or higher security clearance
  • Flight test lead experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
  • Leads the development of test procedures
  • Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures
  • Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
  • Oversees debriefing of the test team
  • Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements
  • Briefs test pilots on aircraft configuration, weight & balance, maintenance activity, and changes since last flight at each pre-flight brief
  • Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data
  • Performs functions as required to ensure test success
  • Trains others
