About The Position

Thales is looking for a Test Equipment Technician II to provide support for test equipment repair, maintenance and calibration. Activities need to be carried out efficiently and expeditiously to ensure the maximum availability of test equipment to the Operations Team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electronics with 6 years of work experience maintaining electronics or avionics testing and repair equipment within the aerospace industry, or a high school diploma or GED with 8+ years of experience in electronics or avionics testing and repair equipment within the aerospace industry.
  • Must be able to demonstrate high proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, and electromechanical circuitry.
  • Experience with manual and automatic test benches.
  • Hands-on experience in test equipment design, fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined environment, dealing with numerous internal and external organizations.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment, both large and small.
  • Ability to identify, plan and deliver improvement plans without supervision.
  • Self-motivation and history of successful direct contribution to company objectives.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and develop logical corrective actions approaches.
  • Advance Experience working with MS Word and Excel.
  • Above average level of personal responsibility and well-developed sense of urgency.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, individually and in teams.
  • Solid organization, decision-making, judgment, and team-oriented skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, responsive, and service oriented approach for test equipment maintenance and support.
  • Identify and proactively address test equipment issues without requiring supervision or direct request.
  • Launch initiatives to improve test means availability by addressing recurring issues.
  • Coordinate purchasing requirements for shop supplies and related services.
  • Coordinate Calibration management of Repair Shop assets for IFE / ASW & ELS.
  • Manage daily workload/priorities to achieve maximum availability of test equipment for Operations.
  • Perform installation and validation of software updates.
  • Lead activities with subcontractors in support of test equipment and tooling manufacturing and maintenance.
  • Contribute in new test equipment procurement and installation.
  • Develop and implement an efficient process of maintaining an optimum level of test equipment spares stock.
  • Share preventive maintenance best practices.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support Engineers, regional counterparts, and HSE officer.
