The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will own significant scopes of Electrical Test Solutions. This includes developing LabVIEW test software with National Instruments hardware. Design capabilities include Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) functional test and support EGSE deployment on spacecraft test campaign efforts for various space vehicles. Coordinate with avionics product owners, engage with customers, and assist EGSE deployments for Blue Ring test teams. In a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will architect EGSE designs, develop software for EGSE products, develop engineering drawings, and field Support Equipment critical to the Blue Ring program. You will lead elements of EGSE deployment starting with vehicle integration and ending with final testing in preparation for launch.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM degree
  • 2+ years Professional experience developing LabVIEW applications
  • 2+ year(s) of Professional Experience supporting Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T), or developing Support Equipment
  • Professional experience integrating Support Equipment into a production or fielded environment
  • Own the full lifecycle of software projects from architecture to deployment
  • Contribute to the refinement and development of software version control, software test automation, and software deployment environment architectures
  • Strong debugging, integration, and troubleshooting skills of NI products and LabVIEW software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
  • Currently holds or eligible to be sponsored for a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing custom electrical assemblies for support equipment designs
  • Experience developing support equipment for command/control systems, RF telemetry systems, ground power systems, avionics emulations, and/or battery management systems
  • Experience writing software to support electrical circuits such as RS-422, Spacewire, 1553, ethernet, discrete signals, and/or power signals
  • Experience deploying support equipment into production flight hardware test configurations and/or qualification laboratories
  • Experience developing multi-layer PCB designs in CAD programs such as but not limited to Altium Designer
  • Experience developing engineering drawings in engineering tools such as Visio, Zuken, CREO, or similar CAD packages
  • 7+ year(s) of supporting Space Programs such as Launch Vehicles, Satellites, Space Hardware Assemblies, or government Aerospace Programs

Responsibilities

  • Plan, Architect, and Draft Support Equipment Engineering
  • Develop LabVIEW Software Solution for the Test Equipment that Operates the Integrated Blue Ring Spacecraft
  • Design Test Systems with National Instrument Hardware including PXI, cRIO, DAQ, and related instrumentation
  • Perform Support Equipment Validation and Checkouts
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts across multiple IPTs to Design Support Equipment Solutions
  • Deploy, Maintain, and Troubleshoot Fielded Support Equipment
  • Support Troubleshooting Efforts during Spacecraft Test Execution
