About The Position

Under general supervision, the Test Lab Engineering Technician performs a variety of technical duties requiring precision and attention to detail. Responsibilities include setting up and conducting tests on aircraft seating, monuments, and components; operating and maintaining test equipment and tools; assembling test articles; and collecting test data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical data.
  • Strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent level of experience.
  • Familiarity with a diverse range of materials (i.e. aluminum alloys, stainless steel alloys, engineering polymers, composites, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience working with mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic components.
  • Experience working within a commercial aircraft seating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the build-up of test articles and set ups in conformity with test plan requirements for all required dynamic, static, reliability and flammability testing.
  • Assemble test articles and setups according to test plan requirements for dynamic, static, reliability, and flammability testing.
  • Assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures; may also fabricate parts for test assemblies.
  • Support test execution, data acquisition, and analysis; generate reports based on results.
  • Maintain and repair test-related equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Monitor and contribute to performance metrics (e.g., KPIs), fostering a results-driven work environment.
  • Minimize downtime and overtime while taking ownership of work responsibilities.
  • Follow lab policies, procedures, and safety standards to optimize performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all test equipment.
  • Comply with all applicable regulations and internal quality standards, including FAA and AirBus requirements.
