About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for our Test Engineering Intern position in Lake Zurich, IL. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer. As a Test Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following: Evaluate new test technologies and methods. Determine Design for Test (DFT) specifications and coordinate with engineering staff on new product design. Design, develop, and maintain test strategies for new and existing products that meet corporate objectives. Train production testing staff in function, design, and maintenance of all testing processes on the production floor. Gather and analyze test data to improve test coverage and efficiencies. Requirements

  • Currently a student pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, with one to two years engineering education completed.
  • Experience with applicable programming languages.
  • The ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • The ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Benefits

  • Part-time work during the school year and full-time during the summer.
  • Competitive pay range of $19.50 - $32.50 per hour based on internship role and year in school.
