About The Position

Hermeus is a venture capital-backed aerospace and defense technology company focused on building high-speed products that sustainably deliver asymmetric advantage to the Department of Defense and allied partners. The Test team is responsible for developing infrastructure to perform tests on fuel & hydraulic system components. The test team works with hardware owners to define testing requirements, design & implement test fixtures, and assist in data collection to inform and verify design decisions.

Requirements

  • Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
  • Strong interest in testing.
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Design test fixtures and interfaces.
  • Perform analysis to determine target test points, instrumentation, and ensure sufficient test safety margins.
  • Organize and run test design reviews with stakeholders in cross-functional teams.
  • Create manufacturing plans for test components/fixtures and work directly with manufacturing/build teams to monitor build progress and assist in resolving issues.
  • Design and release flight-like hardware as necessary for test (including CAD and drawing creation).
