About The Position

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is looking for a first line Test Engineering Leader to manage a multidisciplinary team of 12‑14 engineers and technicians who perform in‑process testing and sub‑assembly verification across our product lines. Positioned within the Test Engineering Operations department, you will use a "player-coach" model to guide and mentor employees in all technical aspects of their assignments and evaluate current and future employees on their skill level. Core duties include strategic planning, resource allocation, hiring and training, budget management, and delivering regular status updates to cross‑functional project stakeholders. This position requires relevant leadership experience to support teams that develop and execute test solutions in manufacturing. The ideal candidate excels at leadership and mentorship—motivating the team, resolving conflicts, delegating effectively, and developing talent through clear goal setting, performance reviews, and constructive feedback. Exceptional communication skills are required to promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, computer engineering, systems or industrial engineering or equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience or project management experience with 5+ years of professional experience in engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with hardware debug and troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills including interpersonal communication and team communication, self-driven, and self-starter.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance after start of employment . Obtaining a security clearance requires US Citizenship
