  • On the job training commensurate with a degree is also acceptable.
  • 3+ years of experience in testing/validation of electro-mechanical or electronics-based products.
  • Proven DVP&R authoring experience with strong skills in requirement decomposition.
  • Experience with product verification that requires regulatory compliance to notified bodies such as CE, UL, CSA, NSF, and others.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding quality tools such as P-diagrams, FMEA, GR&R, and structured root cause analysis such as 5-why, fishbone, fault-tree, A3, pareto, and others.
  • Advanced instrumentation skills: oscilloscopes, DMMs, power/spectrum analyzers, DAQ systems.
  • Experience with environmental testing: thermal/humidity chambers, vibration/shock, pressure/vacuum systems.
  • PCB and assembly-level electro-mechanical testing with strong understanding of test design.
  • Experience with LabView, Visual Basic, C, Python, or other programming skills for test automation a plus.
  • Classical Design of Experiments knowledge for statistical model prediction considered a plus
  • Green Belt, Black Belt, or DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) are considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the DVP&R: Develop comprehensive Design Verification Plans & Reports, including detailed test requirements, pass/fail criteria, sampling plans, and traceability. Lead cross-functional reviews with ME/EE/FW/Quality.
  • Hands-On Lab Validation: Execute functional, environmental, and reliability tests including thermal/humidity cycling, vibration/shock, pressure/vacuum, and ingress protection, using advanced instrumentation and chambers.
  • Electronics/PCB Test: Perform board- and system-level diagnostics using oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and DAQ systems.
  • Root Cause & Failure Analysis: Lead structured experiments, measurement system analysis, and cross-functional root cause activities; document findings and corrective actions.
  • External Lab Interface: Serve as technical owner during third-party testing; ensure test readiness, monitor execution, and validate test reports from accredited labs.
  • Support Regulatory & Compliance: Plan and coordinate CE/UL/CSA/IEC product safety and EMC/EMI testing along with the compliance engineer.
