About The Position

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area. This Test Engineer is primarily responsible for gathering equipment and system performance specifications for developing ship's dockside and at-sea trial testing and schedules. Reviews ship specifications and collaborates with system Lead Test Engineers and operators on specific testing requirements, test specifications, and methods of test conduct, including any required documentation. This Test Engineer also routinely interfaces with the customer (USN and/or USCG), vendors and other Government In-Service Engineering Agents ( ISEA) to resolve testing requirements and system or equipment design issues.

Requirements

  • 2 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 0 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong US Navy or US Coast Guard background in Shipboard testing requirements.
  • Administrative skills in programs such as System Analysis Program (SAP), EVMS, EPICenter and TMRs are highly desirable.
