About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER ITD Aerospace Interconnect division is currently seeking a Test Engineer. The expected annual salary range for this role is $82000 - $ 105,000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. This role must work on-site M- F at our Camarillo facility. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Test Engineer will support test activities and deliverables for our interconnect technology product lines, including fixturing and equipment selection, internal and external test execution, and presentation of test results to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar engineering field from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 1+ years of product engineering experience and/or test engineering within a manufacturing environment inclusive of internships.
  • Ability to interpret and generate 3D CAD models and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and/or prior experience conducting product testing to include vibration, shock, environmental, and mechanical testing.
  • Prior experience writing test plans and reports.
  • Direct experience designing, conducting, and writing reports on Aerospace mechanical and/or electrical product testing.
  • Direct experience designing, conducting, and writing reports for mechanical and/or electrical product testing.
  • General awareness/knowledge of aircraft Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS).
  • General knowledge of interconnect components (connectors, backshells, wiring assemblies) for aviation, aerospace, and industrial markets.
  • Strong internal (within business) and external (customers, vendors, etc) communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces and execute.
  • Aware of technology trends influencing the aerospace industry.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental relationships at all levels. Facilitates consensus solutions to effectively resolve problems and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Executes production test programs in accordance with internal, customer, and Aerospace industry requirements.
  • Develops test program plans including defining tasks, resource requirements, test fixturing, test configuration, and test facility selection and coordination.
  • Works directly with external test facilities to quote and manage schedules of test programs.
  • Ensures that test procedures meet all Eaton environmental health and safety requirements.
  • Assists in root cause problem solving activities using standard methods, processes, and techniques.
  • Understands and incorporates the latest test technology and digital tools/software to improve test efficiency, quality, and safety.
