Could you be the full-time Test Engineer (Train Validation) in West Mifflin, PA we're looking for? Your future role will involve applying your testing and engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field, working alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of our train systems by preparing, supervising, and analyzing test activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • Experience or understanding of testing processes, equipment calibration, and functional verification
  • Knowledge of data analysis methods and tools for interpreting test results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing test reports and collaborating with teams
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions during live testing
  • Attention to detail for ensuring test readiness and accuracy of configurations
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools or equipment development
  • Adaptability to work in dynamic environments and manage unexpected challenges
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry standard and practices
  • Familiarity with safety protocols such as LockOut-TagOut (LOTO) and EHS compliance
  • Readiness for long business travel

Responsibilities

  • Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test
  • Preparing the equipment for testing
  • Validating that the applied configuration and prerequisite testing allows the testing to proceed
  • Respecting EHS rules, notably implementing LockOut-TagOut instruction
  • Supervising and/or executing test activities
  • Analyzing test results 'live' and deciding if the test must be redone or not
  • Conducting test results data analysis
  • Writing static and dynamic test reports
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless test execution
  • Continuously improving testing processes to align with industry standards and best practices
