Nextgen is looking for a detail-oriented Test Engineer with hands-on experience in RF systems and a strong background in test planning and execution. This role is integral to validating system performance and ensuring readiness of AI/ML-enabled RF prototypes through structured testing, configuration control, and technical coordination.

  • Develop, document, and execute test plans, procedures, and reports for RF and system-level testing.
  • Conduct functional, performance, and integration tests across simulated, lab, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Identify, configure, and maintain RF test equipment (e.g., signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, SDRs, antennas, power meters) to ensure test readiness.
  • Coordinate test events, including RF transmission and live range tests, ensuring compliance with safety and spectrum regulations.
  • Design and maintain automated test scripts and tools using Python or C++ to support validation and regression testing.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to define test requirements, instrument interfaces, and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues.
  • Capture and analyze test data, identify defects, and support root-cause analysis of system anomalies.
  • Manage bug tracking, change requests, and test documentation to maintain configuration control.
  • Plan and oversee lab setup, calibration, and maintenance to ensure test fidelity.
  • Participate in live system testing, demonstrations, and field events at various locations (travel required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in test engineering, system verification, or validation of RF or embedded systems.
  • Experience developing and executing structured test plans and writing detailed test documentation.
  • Proficiency with Python and familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
  • Knowledge of software build processes, automation tools, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
