About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Test Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following: Work with DoD Civilians, USN Fleet Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Industry and other contractors in the planning and execution of test plans, test procedures, and system evaluation. Acquire a deep understanding of NAVAIR training devices and simulators in determining optimum test scenarios and mission based testing methodologies. Conduct background research and provide analytical support and recommendations for the development of data collection plans for testing the operational effectiveness and suitability. Trace and validate training systems requirements to test procedures to ensure all requirements have adequate coverage. Author and validate test procedures with support from USN fleet SMEs. Support or lead onsite test events as the American Systems test engineer and document defects. At the completion of formal test events, coordinate the writing and promulgation of test reports. Travel in support of program objectives at the direction of the Program Manager.

Requirements

  • Active TOP SECRET Clearance.
  • BS/BA.
  • Minimum 4+ years of software and hardware testing experience.
  • Experience in Acceptance Testing.
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skill.
  • Experience designing functional and non-functional test cases that verify requirements and validate functionality.
  • Experience detecting, reporting, and tracking defects.
  • Experienced in test result evaluation, reporting and metrics.
