How You’ll Help Us Connect the World As a Test Engineer intern working in the copper and powered fiber systems division, you will be responsible for assisting with the development of new copper and powered fiber power delivery and communication platforms as part of the Broadband Building and Campus division. You will work closely with teams that develop passive and active communication devices . This role will be based in Claremont, NC.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s (upcoming sophomores, juniors & seniors) or master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Some proficiency in LabVIEW or MATLAB would be helpful so that quick data collection programs can be developed.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic and curiosity
  • Can function in an informally structured R&D environment where creativity and technical understanding feed the product development process
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show innovation through unique ideas and propose them to the team
  • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively meet deadlines
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and verbal communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with testing and test protocol development
  • Developing training guides and supporting documentation for existing products
  • Contributing to discussions that help steer the direction of product development
