Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical testing, or a related field.
  • Sound understanding of electrical engineering principles, high-voltage testing methods, and safety practices.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical evaluation methods.
  • Sound programming skills with languages like Visual Basic, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous approach to testing, data collection, and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support team goals.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor team members.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Proficient with relevant lab instrumentation, scopes, DMMs, high-voltage, and high-current measurements.
  • Knowledge of IEEE and IEC switchgear standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to understand test requirements and develop test methods based on customer requirements.
  • Direct lab personnel during the setup and execution of tests.
  • Set up and operate testing equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct a range of tests, including short-circuit tests, dielectric tests, partial discharge tests, impulse tests, insulation resistance tests, and power frequency tests.
  • Accurately collect test data and measurements during testing.
  • Analyze and interpret test results using statistical methods and engineering tools.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
  • Prepare detailed test reports, including methodology, results, and analysis.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality management systems.
  • Support maintenance of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in testing.
  • Create and maintain drawings and documentation related to the lab's processes.
  • Train S&C team members on the lab's processes, equipment, and test methods.
  • Design, develop, and implement new laboratory instrumentation and control systems.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance test methodology, equipment, and processes.
