In a Test Engineering role at Textron Systems, you will be responsible for testing and integrating new technology into our family of USV products throughout the lifecycle of the program. You will lead a team of 2-4 test engineers, overseeing daily task allocation and overall responsibility for testing operations related to your assigned program. Your tasks will include requirements analysis, design review support, test planning, readiness reviews, integration, verification, test/failure review board management, risk management, and engineering analysis. You will prepare and present test engineering work products, such as test plans, procedures, and reports, to internal review teams and external customers. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally with project management, project engineering, and engineering functional leaders to provide project planning for test activities, resource allocation requests, test metrics tracking, and test status. Daily interaction with US Navy customers, program managers, planners, and technicians will be part of your role, along with driving tasks to completion independently.

  • Testing and integrating new technology into USV products throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Executing test engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, design review support, and test planning.
  • Preparing and presenting test engineering work products to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working cross-functionally with project management and engineering leaders for project planning.
  • Serving as a resource within the department and organization.
  • Interacting daily with US Navy customers and program managers.
  • Driving tasks to completion independently.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or physical sciences and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a systems engineering or design engineering role, or a Master’s Degree with 3 or more years of related experience.
  • 2 years of demonstrated project leadership experience preferred.
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required.
  • Travel Required: 25% - 30%.
  • Effective writing and presentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and MagicDraw (or equivalent).
  • Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering.
  • Naval system experience according to military standards preferred.
