Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thales Defense & Security Inc., is a technical leader in the fields of sonar systems, sonar signal processing, acoustic training systems, and open architecture system and software integration. The venture focuses on emerging areas in the undersea warfare domain where the customer has identified mission-critical needs. The Test Engineer II position is responsible for a specific technical activity and completion of assigned tasks on time and within budget. The role involves designing, developing, analyzing, documenting, and supporting testing of products, systems, and subsystems. The engineer may use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments and will be involved with the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and/or existing systems/subsystems. Responsibilities include determining system integration and test specifications and supporting the acquisition of hardware and software as needed.

  • Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
  • Hands-on integration and troubleshooting of complex computer hardware and software systems
  • Conduct cyber security assessments and implement remediation, as needed
  • Report on technical progress and status regularly
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule estimate input for design assignments
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participates in preparation of less complex proposals
  • May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical/computer engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain the appropriate level of government issued security clearance and/or access
  • Experience with Redhat Linux, Microsoft Windows Operating Environments, Virtualization Management products from VM-Ware, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering project team
  • Experience with Cisco network configuration
  • 9/80 compressed work schedule with every other Friday off
