We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will work as part of an integrated product development team, will create test procedures and test specifications for new equipment and products based on customer requirements and technical program objectives. The Test Engineer will be responsible for design validation, abuse, and performance testing of lithium battery cells, modules and packs for customized applications in the commercial and defense industries. The Test Engineer, as part of an integrated product development team, will provide data analysis and test feedback from concept design phase to product launch. This position requires the ability to write test procedures, analyze results and create test reports in support of internal, customer, and government deliverables. Responsibilities Lead functional, performance, and regulatory testing of battery cells, modules, packs, electronics, and software during product development. Work with product development teams to provide design feedback on issues which arise during testing, including supporting DFMEA and DVP&R development. Work with external test facilities to bid, select, schedule, and execute tests as necessary. Support the specification and/or execution of testing equipment (data acquisition, control systems, fixturing) purchasing, upgrades, or integration into facility test automation initiatives. Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions. Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
