This role is in Textron System's Weapon Systems business area. We are seeking a talented Test Engineer with a Mechanical or Test Engineering background for the Wilmington, MA location. As a Test Engineer, you will perform planning, coordination, and execution of component, subsystem, and system level tests as well as other evaluation activities across the program. A strong candidate will possess at least 2 years related experience. You will have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplined team environment and directly support our nation's war fighters. Requirements

  • B.S. in engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of related experience
  • M.S. in engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of related experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience using electrical/mechanical test instrumentation is a plus
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and have good organizational skills
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Government Security Clearance; Active Secret clearance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination, and scheduling test and evaluation activities to ensure that test requirements and objectives are met per customer/program requirements and engineering and quality standards
  • Preparing and/or reviewing test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews and test reports for functional, environmental, and field tests
  • Supporting in-house and field data collection activities including setup and operation of data acquisition systems, accelerometers, strain gauges, high speed cameras, and other test instrumentation
  • Supporting test activities including product installation, integration, test, data acquisition and analysis
  • Performing preliminary 'quick-look' analysis and provide post-test debriefs to engineering team and customers
  • Coordination with appropriate program, engineering, and external organizations during test planning, execution, analysis and reporting phases
