Advanced Energy is looking for a Test Development Engineer to join our team in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost-effective solutions for manufacturing tests for several high frequency, high voltage circuits and systems that ensure high quality standards. The position performs a variety of technical, multi-disciplined tasks early in the Product Development Process to provide timely, flexible, universal tools and processes. The Test Engineer makes knowledgeable, data-driven decisions and employs innovative technologies with optimal control and maximum speed and flexibility.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing test environment
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to influence design team decisions
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex technical problems with minimal assistance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Expertise in programming automation and data collection
  • Object Oriented Programming Skills
  • 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology
  • Programming experience in NI Labview and TestStand, C++, SQL, and/or Python
  • Product test development experience.
  • Experience with a variety of General-Purpose Test Equipment use and automation. Including: Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DAQs, and Switches.
  • Source Code control experience.
  • Experience in power supply testing or design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant engineering discipline

Responsibilities

  • Ensure testability and serviceability of new product designs, providing feedback to design teams addressing opportunities for defects in manufacturing and field use
  • Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, completes specifications and procedures for new products and for product design changes throughout the product’s lifecycle
  • Accurately estimate project costs and schedules associated with implementing test solutions
  • Owns test requirements from the vendor, to shipment, to the customer
  • Verify products meet their functional requirements - including design verification and manufacturing screens
  • Analyze capabilities and ensure control of critical parameters of products and test equipment
