Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Direct structural test experience of space vehicles, aircraft, or large structures (planning, assisting, and/or executing).
  • Experience with MTS AeroPro or similar load control software.
  • Experience with Dewesoft data acquisition hardware and software.
  • Leading test teams as a Test Conductor or Test Engineer.
  • Experience in designing and analyzing structural test equipment/GSE (or similar).
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as NASTRAN, ANSYS, or similar.
  • Experience with data acquisition, control, and/or instrumentation.
  • Experience designing or operating pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electronics/control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and planning of structural tests and associated test equipment.
  • Analyze, identify, and select test hardware (actuators, instrumentation, fixtures, support equipment, etc.).
  • Coordinate and direct other engineers, test crews, support equipment, outside vendors, and vehicle configurations for testing throughout vehicle production.
  • Design, develop and model test equipment/GSE required for testing.
  • Manage vendors to design and fabricate test equipment/GSE where needed.
  • Write test procedures and manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns.
  • Define and perform facility activation tests.
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies real-time and provide solutions during non-conformance scenarios.
  • Reduce, analyze and archive test data to support verification tasks.
  • Manage and supervise a small team of technicians during test setups, checkouts, and teardowns.
  • Act as console operator during test execution.
