About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to join our Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) team in King of Prussia, PA. As a Test Engineer in this team you will be focused on Digital Relay Test Automation. A typical day in this position will include the following: Evaluating new test technologies and methods. Determining Design for Test (DFT) specifications and working with engineering staff on new product design. Designing, developing, and maintaining test strategies for new and existing products that meet corporate objectives. Training production testing staff in function, design, and maintenance of all testing processes on the production floor. Gathering and analyzing test data to improve test coverage and efficiencies. Modeling SEL Values. Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes. Embracing the mindset understand, create, simplify and applying it to processes. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience designing and developing production tests.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Experience with various programming languages.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in electronic design, manufacturing and testing.
  • Skilled in the design and construction of test fixtures.
  • Experience in writing test procedures and test documentation.
  • Good understanding of protection functions in digital relays.
  • Basic understanding of communication protocols in digital relays.
  • Experience with testing of protection and/or communication protocols in digital relays.
  • Good programming skills (Python, Perl etc.).
  • Experience managing test teams.

Responsibilities
