The Test Engineer at AirBorn Inc. is responsible for developing and implementing testing methods for military, aerospace, and high-reliability equipment. This role involves designing test fixtures, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The engineer will collaborate with engineering teams to enhance product development and improve testing efficiency.

  • Develop methods to test products based on industry standard specifications.
  • Quote new test activity for internal and external customers.
  • Design new test fixtures and ensure proper calibration of equipment.
  • Determine equipment, wiring, controls, and data collection necessary to perform a test.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Create detailed reports to record test procedures, results, and generate numerical and graphical data.
  • Collaborate with engineering and scientific staff on testing results and provide insights for product development or improvement.
  • Ensure that test procedures comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Evaluate and implement new test technologies to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Design test equipment (Fixtures and test cables) and optimize and implement test procedures.
  • Develop Test process instructions with training and qualification plan.
  • Implement audit system to ensure test procedures and test accuracy is sustainable.
  • Completion of a BS in engineering from an accredited college or university, technical or vocational school, and knowledge in operation of test lab equipment.
  • Three to five years related experience or training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, including statistical analysis and test reliability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and mentor junior staff.
  • Experience with test equipment for DWV and Continuity/Contact resistance testing.
  • CAD, CREO experience along with assembly level programming.
  • Hands-on experience with fabricating test adapters.
