The Raytheon team is looking for a Test Driven - Senior Software Engineer to support the Sea Based X-band Radar (SBX) program and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers' wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon an experienced workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada.
  • Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment.
  • Experience developing software and writing/maintaining unit tests for high-level languages (C++, Ada).
  • Experience in creating and executing unit tests written in MATLAB, including the use of MATLAB's testing framework and test automation tools.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts.
  • Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems.
  • Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary agile teams composed of Software Engineering, Systems Engineer, and System Test.
  • Exposure maintaining Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to increase automated test coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site multiple times a year.
  • Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.
