About The Position

The Test Center Manager at Pearson VUE in Getzville, NY, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the test center, ensuring a secure and efficient testing environment. This role involves managing a small team of Test Administrators, performing administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service to examinees. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work various shifts, including weekends.

Requirements

• At least 1-year customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication, team leading, and training skills, with exposure to a testing environment preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, Internet, and email.
• Ability to operate a computer, fax, and telephone.
• Must maintain focus in quiet environments and hear soft-spoken words.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and bend, stoop, and lift from a stooped position.
• Must see small details at a distance and clearly read names on ID cards and screens.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-time site opening and closing procedures.
• Understand all testing procedures and monitor examinees while testing.
• Check in examinees, verify identification, and explain the exam process.
• Maintain a secure testing environment and communicate with internal technical support to resolve issues.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and maintain a professional testing center.
• Manage staffing, hiring, retention, conflict resolution, and scheduling for the Test Administrator team.
• Train, develop, and coach staff members.
• Act as the first contact for facility issues and multi-task effectively.
