General Definition: Lead horses from the finish line to the test barn for post-race testing. Essential Job Functions: Lead horses from the finish line to the test barn for post-race testing. Contacts appropriate parties (ambulance, horse ambulance etc.) and assists where possible when a horse requires medical attention. Ensures on/off gaps operate smoothly Dresses in designated uniform Notifies Test Barn of horses bringing back for testing Notifies Stewards if any problems arise on the track Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2-6 months related experience and/or training; or combination. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing. Responsible for fostering a fun environment. Responsible for being gracious to all guests and co-workers. Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures that behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment Excellent customer service/communication skills Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. Training: 2-6 month work related experience and/or training; or combination. Licenses/Certifications/Other: Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC) Physical Requirements: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
