About The Position

We're ruthlessly focused on business impact. We are a highly senior team composed of former pioneers from a variety of different robotics industries. As of 2025, DoorDash has completed 10B lifetime deliveries. We're focused on how to do the next 10B even better. We are seeking a highly motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the test and validation of our unmanned platforms at the system and component levels. The ideal candidate has a strong background in test architecture development, system integration and HIL testing and debugging with a proven track record of collaboratively solving challenging problems in close-knit teams..

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience with HIL systems (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Speedgoat, custom test rigs).
  • Experience writing and automating unit tests for embedded firmware.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, bash) for test automation.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I²C.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain HIL and reliability test systems for hardware platforms.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements and design specifications.
  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous verification.
  • Create systems to easily review, and extract insights from test results
  • Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues uncovered during testing, working with engineering teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain clear documentation of test setups, procedures, and results.
  • Ensure test systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
