The Test and Validation Engineer I position at RTX Corporation involves supporting the testing and troubleshooting of various electronic hardware for missile programs. The role requires collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines and the operations team to ensure hardware requirements are met and processes are followed. The engineer will analyze data to identify root causes of issues and develop improvement projects to enhance manufacturing test methods.

  • Support test and troubleshooting of RF, IF, Microwave, Analog and Digital hardware for missile programs.
  • Work closely with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Product Design, Test Development and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Interpret test requirements, develop and maintain test procedures, and document test practices.
  • Analyze data to drive issues to root cause.
  • Generate Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues relating to the production test process.
  • Develop and execute improvement projects to increase first pass yield.
  • Engage with Design and Test Development teams to solve issues impacting production.
  • Ensure hardware requirements are met and processes are followed.
  • Assist manufacturing operators in the testing & troubleshooting of production hardware.
  • Support production test on multiple functional test platforms.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, OneNote).
  • RF, analog and digital test / troubleshooting skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset to enhance manufacturing test methods through process modernization.
  • Sound understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Software skills (Labview, MATLAB, C, Linux) a plus.
