About The Position

This is a regional remote position requiring candidates to reside in the New Mexico region. Staples operates in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, focusing on building connections with small to medium business customers. The role involves prospecting and winning new accounts, as well as ramping and onboarding these accounts to expand the customer base. It is a high-velocity sales position that utilizes a prioritized call list to engage prospects through various channels including phone, video, face-to-face interactions, and digital tools.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of successful sales experience or success as a Staples B2B Sales Associate.
  • 3+ years of experience in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong drive and desire to win, with an aversion to complacency.
  • Proven ability to view rejection as a learning opportunity and adapt actions accordingly.
  • Experience and proven track record in business development.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations both virtually and in person.
  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation, and advanced client management skills.
  • Ability to work with product category sales team members.
  • Strong business, financial, operations, and technology acumen.
  • Ability to analyze business and industry trends to create tailored solutions for prospects based on Staples' value proposition.
  • Ability to function independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and self-discipline.
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive selling or goal-oriented environment.
  • Ability to be coached and incorporate feedback.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit effective appointment setting skills and set the required number of appointments each week with the correct decision makers.
  • Utilize professional selling skills to discover prospects' incremental and programmatic needs.
  • Effectively communicate Staples' value propositions, capabilities, products, and assortments across all categories.
  • Overcome objections and close sales effectively.
  • Utilize prescribed selling tools to prioritize activities and drive efficiency, documenting customer engagement and information (e.g., Priority List, Tenfold, SFDC).
  • Work effectively with customer support/setup teams and category specialists to progress deals to closure.
  • Implement and ramp wins, ensuring compliance with new accounts/programs.
  • Create 'sticky' accounts that will continue to purchase from Staples.
  • Integrate feedback from prospects into the sales approach.
  • Communicate daily with prospects in a professional manner, both in person and face-to-face.
