About The Position

Teledyne Gas & Flame is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for portable gas detection in the gas utility industry, supporting the America's activities. This position will be home office based in the sales territory, specifically focusing on the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for the profitable promotion and growth of the portable gas detection portfolio in the gas utility market. This includes managing the promotion and selling of portable gas detection products directly to end users in the gas utility market, which involves promoting, selling, supporting, consulting, managing the tender process, preparing quotes, and building relationships with relevant end user customers. The appointed candidate will work closely with the Teledyne Gas & Flame Portable & Fixed Gas Detection sales team, the Teledyne GMI Product Management and Engineering team, and Teledyne Detcon. The role requires developing an in-depth knowledge of the portable gas detection product portfolio through successful completion of required sales and technical training programs. The candidate will be responsible for achieving agreed sales targets by identifying sales opportunities in new and existing markets to meet or exceed business growth objectives. Additionally, the successful candidate will build strong business relationships with end users and industry associations in the gas utility market, manage the tender process, and implement a sales plan to support a direct selling structure to achieve sales growth. Regular meetings with existing and prospective customers will be necessary to understand their evolving business needs, and the candidate will be expected to prepare customer-specific business plans, conduct sales presentations, and attend sales meetings and exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
